Why should you implement WBT? (cont.)
 

 

Like every decision in life, it is best if you can weigh both the positives and negatives before making up your mind. Ask yourself, “would WBT provide me with a method of instruction that is easier, cheaper, safer, or more engaging than the Glen?alternative?” (Hall, 1997, p. 20). Ultimately, it will boil down to your needs assessment and analysis, and what you can realistically accomplish with the budget and technical infrastructure that is available. But remember, you don’t have to be a “teckie” or have a huge budget to deliver or develop quality Web-based Training...just look at what we’ve done, no?

tipTIP: If you’re ever in a position where you need to deliver WBT and have a limited budget, take a look at the December 1998 issue of Training magazine. Inside there's an article written by Sarah Fister called Web-based Training on a Shoestring... it’s very helpful...
