| A view of CSX train tracks in Harpers Ferry on a hot and humid summer afternoon. Kayakers can be seen on the Potomac River. This photograph captured in June, 2000 was taken by Jim Epler in the summer in Harpers Ferry, WV on the railroad bridge. The image was exposed on 35mm Kodak GOLD 200 color film stock using a Pentax Asahi Spotmatic II camera with a Asahi Pentax 55mm f/1.8 lens. Photographer Comments: I took this photograph on a camping trip I enjoyed with some friends during the last weekend I spent in Virginia before moving to the West Coast. It holds a high degree of sentimental value for me because of when and where it was taken. When I look at this photograph, I feel as though I am transported back in time to when I was standing on that bridge. The picture is somewhat unusual in that it unequivably conveys EXACTLY what I saw through my viewfinder as I tripped the shutter on that hazy hot and humid afternoon. |
