| The large video scoreboard "Dodger Vision" above the left field bleachers. This photograph was taken by Jim Epler at 11:59 AM on 7/18/2007 in the summer in Los Angeles, CA at Dodger Stadium. It is cataloged under the terms sports, architecture, art, landmarks and objects in this photography database. This image was recorded on digital media using a Canon Digital Rebel xTi camera with a Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L lens stopped to f 10 and exposed at a speed of 1/200 sec. Photographer Comments: I like the retro font and design of the picture displayed here on the video board. It has a 1950's California feel to it and reminds me of when I saw my first game here as a young boy on a family trip to the West Coast in 1982. When I look at this picture I imagine the distinct "voice of the Dodgers" Mr. Vin Sculley reading the sign aloud, "Welcome to Dodgers Stadium." I wish he and Joe Garagiola would team up again to announce baseball games on national television like they did in the 1980's. They were by far the two best national baseball sportcasters I've ever had the privilege of listening to. I'm also partial to Harry Kalas and Richie "Whitey" Ashburn because I grew up listening to them do the play-by-play for the Philadelphia Phillies. |

Additionally, Jim thought of search words that someone might use to locate this picture including the terms billboard, videoboard, baseball, scoreboard, Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles and Welcome to Dodger Stadium since 1962, so he included these on this page as a service to himself and others who would like to download this free photograph! |
