| A view of a cute little girl eating lunch on the U.S. side of the U.S.-Mexico border in Southern California near San Ysidro. This photograph was taken by Jim Epler at 11:57 AM on 8/16/2008 in San Diego, CA at Border Field State Park. This image was recorded on digital media using a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX55 camera with a LEICA 28-100mm f/2.8-5.6 lens stopped to f 5.6 and exposed at a speed of 1/250 sec. Photographer Comments: This area is called "Friendship Park." Families and friends have gathered and interacted freely for generations in this designated spot along the border fence between U.S. and Mexico. It is sad to know the Department of Homeland Security is planning to build a triple fence right through this area in the very near future. |
