We thought it might be helpful to show you some examples of WBT. As Ann noted, the purposes, instructional strategies, designs, and levels of interactivity can vary greatly from one WBT program to another. Some programs employ text and graphics only; others include quizzes, audio, video, synchronous chat rooms, and threaded discussions. Additionally, some WBT programs utilize multiple levels
of programming in their designs (Java applets,
Javascript, VRML, and Active-X
controls), or they can be developed using rich authoring tools like Macromedias
Authorware® and Director®,
or Allen Communications Quest®. And, to complicate
things even further, many programs utilize a little bit of everything!
Hybrid CDs, also known as Internet CDs, are training programs that deliver
audio and video on a CD-ROM, and update content and links automatically
over the Web! |
